The Good

The aptly named Mushroom Toast was very tasty. The thyme-roasted garlic mushroom, roasted spiced cauliflower, onion, cherry tomato, mixed nuts, and goat feta all worked incredibly well together. It brought great flavor with a distinct Mediterranean feel. The perfectly poached eggs and house-made hummus served over sourdough were just delicious.

The Mediocre

Beef Brisket Burger wasn’t a highlight but was still decent overall. The beef brisket had good flavor and was a tad smokey. Unfortunately, the meat was all chopped up — I would’ve preferred a big, hearty slice instead. On the bright side, the slaw was crunchy and thankfully not over-dressed. The accompanying chips were a bit of a letdown. They arrived a little limp, and the portion size was lacking — there simply weren’t enough chips on the plate.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

The Foodstore Cafe delivers a solid, welcoming cafe experience with a few minor inconsistencies. It’s still a great local spot, especially if you lean toward their brunch and veggie-focused menu items.
