The Good

We thoroughly enjoyed the Crab Scrambled. The light, fluffy and silk smooth scrambled eggs sat high on top of a flakey puff pastry. Scattered with fish roe and intertwined with the occasional chunk of crab, we found the seafood flavours bold and forward. With a distinctly Asian flavour, the delicious scrambled eggs were nicely accompanied by a light, crisp fresh salad.

The Seasonal Avocado didn’t disappoint either. The simple and elegant presentation made for a delightful meal characterised by a gigantic portion of fresh, creamy avocado accompanied by a perfectly cooked 63degree egg. The perfect avocado and egg were served alongside crisp, pickled beetroot and creamy dollops of goat feta mousse, all served with buttery seeded sourdough. Simply delicious.

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

A welcome new addition to the bustling Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn Brew Bar offers gold coffee and great food all at very reasonable prices.

While the portion sizes may not be huge, the quality ingredients and near flawless execution made it a very enjoyable meal, and is destined fl become the local gem.
