The Good
The brioche bun was nice and soft, however not toasted. The crunchiness was made up for in the soft shell crab which was tender and very flavoursome.
However there was too much salad dressing and mayo that overpowered the burger.
The Mediocre
The ramen was quite ordinary, with the ramen noodles just slightly better than those ‘premium’ instant noodles. Trust me, I know… having been a uni student and all.
Both the milkshake and coffee were nothing special at all. While the gaytime and the milk complemented each other well, there was nothing outstanding texture or flavour-wise.
The Bad
Staff were extremely unattentive and service was, as a result, rather slow…
The Verdict
Pretty average cafe for brunch given all the hype. Not sure what the fuss is about as the food is overall pretty mediocre and the service was baaaaaad.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Not likely.
